The role of the HPCA
The HPCA is an executive agency of the NSW Ministry of Health. HPCA staff are employed through the Ministry of Health. The role of the HPCA is to manage operational and administrative functions relating to health practitioner regulation in NSW, including secretariat support for the 14 NSW health professional Councils to carry out their regulatory functions.
Our values
The HPCA follows the Ministry of Health Code of Conduct which details required standards and behaviour guidelines. At all times employees must act with integrity, honesty, transparency and fairness in dealing with colleagues, members of the public and other government agencies. All staff must sign the Code of Conduct when they start work at the HPCA.
The HPCA also upholds NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
Our location
The HPCA has offices in two different locations. The HPCA Executive, Administrative, Legal, Financial and Corporate Governance teams as well as teams supporting 13 of the health professional councils are located in Haymarket. HPCA staff supporting the Medical Council of NSW are located in Gladesville.
Haymarket
Our offices in Haymarket are located within a short walking distance from Central Station and Belmore Park. Buses and light rail services run adjacent to the office. A food court is available inside the office building as are sports facilities. The building is surrounded by popular cafés, restaurants and shopping facilities, including Market City.

Gladesville
HPCA staff supporting the Medical Council of NSW are located at the beautiful grounds of the old Gladesville Hospital in Gladesville. Bus transport is available nearby on Victoria Rd. The Medical Council offices are walking distance from Banjo Paterson Park and Bedlam Point.
