Privacy statement
The Health Professional Councils Authority and Councils hold the following information:
- Complaint information including information about complainants and practitioners
- Policy and planning documents
- Documents on internal administration
- Documents about appointments to various statutory positions.
We are committed to treating all information in accordance with privacy laws. We follow the NSW Health Privacy Management Plan and the NSW Health Privacy Manual for Health Information. The Plan and Manual provide operational guidance for staff on their obligations under privacy laws. They also outline the procedures to support compliance with the Information Privacy Principles and Health Privacy Principles.
We also follow strict rules and policies regarding the secure storage of personal information to ensure that it is protected from unauthorised access, loss or misuse and follow the HPCA Records Management Policy.
Privacy complaint
Complaints can be made about privacy breaches to us. You will be informed in writing of the result of your complaint and we will inform the NSW Privacy Commissioner.
